GRADUATE RECORD EXAMINATION (GRE)

The computer-based GRE (GRE - CAT) is a 3 1/2-hour test consisting of three different sections, each with its own time-limit:

  • Analytical Writing Assessment (AWA)
  • : 60 minutes
(Two essays to be composed on a given Issue and a given Argument)

  • Verbal Ability
  • : 75 minutes
(37 multiple choice questions on Analogies, Antonyms, Sentence Completion and Reading
          Comprehension)

  • Quantitative Ability
  • : 75 minutes
(41 multiple choice questions of two types - Quantitative Comparison and Discrete
Quantitative - on Arithmetic, Algebra, Geometry and Data Interpretation)

In our study materials on each topic, questions similar to those asked on that topic in the written GRE tests between 1980 and 2002 have been classified under appropriate heads, their various patterns identified, and detailed lessons written in a lucid manner explaining the basic concepts that are sought to be tested and the method of tackling each pattern of questions correctly and in the shortest possible time.

Where there were common types of questions in GRE, GMAT and SAT, the questions from the latter two, which are of the same type and same level of difficulty, have also been taken note of.

To give an example, you will face just 1 or 2 questions on ‘Circles’ in the Quantitative Ability section of GRE. But our study package contains as many as 240 questions on Circles of the same type and difficulty that were asked in GRE, GMAT and SAT of earlier years.

Similarly, you will face just 8 questions on Reading Comprehension (3 + 3 + 2 on three different passages), but our package contains as many as 550 questions on 75 different authentic passages.
